“A fancy quote often looks grand, but seldom impresses.”
Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Kyle Paul Boone first picked up a bass in 6th grade. After cycling through various other horns, strings, and even the steel drum he rediscovered the bass guitar nearly 5 years later and has remained committed to the instrument ever since. After studying music and history in Charleston, SC, he moved to Missoula to do trail work, but quickly discovered that this line of work took him away from what he loved and craved the most: music. Kyle went on to provide the low end for countless Missoula based bands ranging from rock to americana, bluegrass to funk, country, blues, electronica, R&B, and everything in between.
After some soul searching he realized that while Missoula was crucial to his development as a human being, it was time to move on to the greener pastures of Los Angeles. There he made new friends, neworked with industry bigwigs, and discovered new talents such as running live sound and DJing events. When COVID-19 hit he high-tailed it up to the safe harbors of Portland, Oregon, where he has been ever since.
These days KPBoone42 spends his time hanging out with Peppep and Roxy, trying to practice without getting distracted every 2 seconds, and perfecting his sourdough pancake recipe.
Kyle Paul Boone has seen and done a lot. In addition to playing bass in a plethora of bands that span a multitude of genres, he has quite the random and interesting set of skills and experiences:
